- Was born on December 26, 1944.
- He was enrolled as an Advocate in the Patna High Court and practiced in Civil, Labour, Revenue (excluding taxation), Criminal and Constitutional cases in the Patna High Court.
- On October 31, 1988, he was appointed as a Permanent Judge of the Patna High Court and was transferred to the Allahabad High Court on April 28, 1994.
- He was appointed as the Chief Justice of Punjab and Harayana High Court on October 14,2002 and was transferred to Gawahati High Court and taken charge on 21st May, 2005 and again transferred to the Sikkim High Court and taken charge on 30th September, 2005.
